#262 - A Ministry of Light
Wednesday Jan 01, 2025
Wednesday Jan 01, 2025
Welcome to a new episode of Simply by Grace. Dr. Charlie Bing delves into 2 Corinthians Chapter 4, bringing to light Apostle Paul's enduring struggle to defend his ministry against false accusations. In this episode, Dr. Bing emphasizes the importance of maintaining integrity in preaching the gospel, without resorting to deceitful tactics for the sake of gaining converts.
Dr. Bing discusses how Paul defines his new covenant ministry, affirming its God-given nature and outlining the divine motivation that encourages him despite challenges. We explore Paul's perspective on why people may not respond to the gospel; attributing blind minds to the influence of Satan, and not to the faults of gospel teachings themselves.
Gain insights into the spiritual warfare faced in ministry, how to preach with sincerity, and the pivotal role of Jesus Christ as the true focus of our message, rather than attempting to make a name for ourselves. This episode is a call to live and preach with authenticity, as Paul exemplified, shining light through the cracks of our own human frailty.

#257 - Thinking about Heaven
Wednesday Nov 27, 2024
Wednesday Nov 27, 2024
What do you think of when you think about heaven? Does it make you eager to go there? Today? Sometimes myths and misconceptions about heaven give us a stilted view of what it is like and even where it will be. It doesn't sound very appealing to many people. Charlie addresses five myths about heaven:
- We will become angels in heaven
- We will live in heaven forever
- Heaven will be boring
- We will miss our old life
- Everyone will go there
He uses many passages to clarify what heaven is like, such as Psalm 16:11; 1 Corinthians 15:48; 2 Corinthians 5:1-8; Philippians 1:21-23; Revelation 21:1-3. Most importantly, Charlie makes it clear what one has to do to get to heaven and how those who are going should live. Be sure to share this message with friends or those who might like to look ahead to what heaven is like. #heaven#GraceLifeMinistries#GLministriesapp.

#256 - The Judgment Seat of Christ Explained
Wednesday Nov 20, 2024
Wednesday Nov 20, 2024
Do we hear enough about the Judgment Seat of Christ where every Christian must give an account of how his or her life was used? Some theologies dismiss this judgment altogether seeing only one judgment called The Great White Throne. This results in salvation by works because that is the criteria for the GWT judgment. Even in churches and with preachers who believe in the JSOC, this event is not taught much. Maybe as a consequence many Christians live carelessly not knowing or caring that they will be held accountable by Christ. Charlie sits down with Dr. Paul Weaver to discuss this issue from Charlie's GraceNotes no. 105.
This podcast is a re-broadcast of Dr. Weaver's Bible and Theology Matters podcast and YouTUbe video. The JSOC is for believers only; the GWT is for unbelievers only. It is crucial that Christians keep an accurate and applicable view of the Judgment Seat of Christ.
Dr. Weaver served with Word of Life as dean in their Bible Institutes in Hungary and New York before becoming an Associate Professor of Bible Exposition at Dallas Theological Seminary. #255 - He Got a Grip on Grace
Wednesday Nov 13, 2024
Wednesday Nov 13, 2024
Have you ever attended a church that taught differently or drifted away from what you believe? In this Grace Story, Sean Runcorn took quite a journey from the time he was saved through troubled teenage years, and finally a return to the Lord and regular church attendance. His experience with different churches forced him to think through some biblical and theological issues. His brushes with Arminianism and later with Calvinism made him think through the issues of the gospel of grace. But the result was good--Sean came to a clearer understanding and a stronger grip on God's grace. Sean lives in Springfield, Missouri with his wife of 31 years, Krista. They have seven children and eight grandchildren, who they have faithfully steered into the truth of God's grace.
