#143 - Tough Love Wins
Wednesday Sep 21, 2022
Wednesday Sep 21, 2022
Ever struggled to restore a relationship but you ended up tearing each other down instead of building one another up? Are there relationships you have that you want to see restored?
In the church in Corinth, Paul was writing to them to give them some tough love. What we’ll see in Paul’s words are not doctrines or commands but a desire to restore a relationship that was important to him through love. We get a glimpse into his openness with them and an example of how to view others as Christ views them.
In this podcast Charlie walks us through Paul’s tough love in 2 Corinthians 7:2-16 with fellow believers in the church in Corinth. It starts with being open and honest and viewing others as Christ sees them. It’s by no means easy, but in the long run it creates bonds with one another that Christ intended for us.

His book about his experience, Running Against the Wind, though out of print, can still be found on Amazon.com. Hear how God's grace has changed his life and given him peace. #140 - Grace Stories - A Burden Lifted
Thursday Sep 01, 2022
Thursday Sep 01, 2022
This episode tells the story of a devoted Catholic woman who tried to check all the right boxes of her religion, but never felt that she measured up. Then she did something radical--she read the Bible. As she studied it, she began to see the truth she had never heard, that she could be saved by God's free and undeserved grace through simple faith in Jesus Christ as Savior. Susan Pooley would never be the same. As hard as it was, she left the Catholic church and joined a new church where she is active in ministry and missions. Best of all, her relationship with God is not a burden; she is free.

#139 - Have a Blast While You Last
Wednesday Aug 24, 2022
Wednesday Aug 24, 2022
Ever wonder how people find a life of meaning? Some travel the world, others climb mountains, and still others exercise. In this Podcast, Charlie focused on the words of King Solomon in Ecclesiastes chapter 9.
What Solomon had said was to enjoy life while you can. This life can be short and uncertain so we must find a balance and maximize our time. Solomon talks about living life, not just enduring life. A balanced life sets proper boundaries and proper goals and one thing about this life is that it's the only time one can believe in Christ as savior. The goal is to make this life richer and fuller through Christ.
So, listen as Charlie walks through Solomons wisdom.

Wednesday Aug 17, 2022
Wednesday Aug 17, 2022
"Most churches don't know what they believe, or don't believe what they know," so says our Grace Stories guest. He says his discovery of eternal security made him "the Rodney Dangerfield of Christianity"--he gets no respect. To know your salvation is secure forever may thrill you, but if you are not sure, it will/should threaten you. In this episode, Joe Clemons shares how his understanding of grace and eternal security made a difference to him and the gospel he preaches. He got so excited, he wrote a short book about it and other great gospel words called What Is Eternal Salvation?: A Big Lie or a Simple Truth? To get the book, visit amazon. Have fun listening to Joe rejoicing in grace.

Wednesday Aug 10, 2022
Wednesday Aug 10, 2022
Did you know there's one thing we as believers won't be able to do once we get to heaven?
That's evangelism...sharing the gospel. Evangelism, what is it, what does it look like, and what should it look like? Charlie focuses on 2 Cor. 4:1-6 which gives us different aspects of evangelism. How do each of these aspects play out practically speaking, and what does it mean for those giving the message and those receiving it? What is Satan's role and what is God's role?
Find out in this episode and stay tuned next week for another Grace story.

#136 - Grace Stories - What motivates you?
Wednesday Aug 03, 2022
Wednesday Aug 03, 2022
In this grace story, Charlie speaks with Stephanie Hosey, who found the grace of God in Jesus Christ. She was born and raised within the Catholic church and didn't have an understanding that Christ died for her. She only understood the historical facts but didn't believe them for herself. It was through God's gentle nudging that she came to understand the power of God's grace in her life and ultimately why she was in need of a savior and what Christ had done for her.
From this new understanding her life changed from living a Christian life that was performance oriented, which is a form of bondage, into living a life by grace.
