Wednesday Nov 09, 2022

Three gospels tell the story of two thieves crucified with Jesus, but only Luke lets us see the change of heart in one thief that brought him eternal life with Christ. In a time and environment where so many people confuse or complicate the gospel, this story reminds us of the simplicity of faith in Christ as Savior. You will see what the thief did and did not do to obtain eternal life. It is a picture of God’s grace in salvation and a challenge for us to never give up on anyone who needs to be saved.

#146 - Dear Family: I’m Going to Die Here
Wednesday Oct 12, 2022
Wednesday Oct 12, 2022
Where? In a jade mine in northern Myanmar (also known as Burma). Why? Because he is totally addicted to opium and heroin. Who? Han Bo Tun, who we call by his western name, Edward. Charlie talks to a ministry partner on the other side of the world in southeast Asia. Edward’s journey out of drugs and into ministry happened because he remembered his Christian upbringing and people were praying for him. Today, he trains hundreds of pastors as the director of Bible Education by Extension (BEE) in Myanmar. The recent Covid pandemic and military coup has made ministry difficult, but Edward and wife, Hannah, continue to share the gospel of grace in an environment of legalism and Buddhism. Listen and tell us what you think. You can check out their ministry and find out how to support them at BEEMyanmar.org.

#143 - Tough Love Wins
Wednesday Sep 21, 2022
Wednesday Sep 21, 2022
Ever struggled to restore a relationship but you ended up tearing each other down instead of building one another up? Are there relationships you have that you want to see restored?
In the church in Corinth, Paul was writing to them to give them some tough love. What we’ll see in Paul’s words are not doctrines or commands but a desire to restore a relationship that was important to him through love. We get a glimpse into his openness with them and an example of how to view others as Christ views them.
In this podcast Charlie walks us through Paul’s tough love in 2 Corinthians 7:2-16 with fellow believers in the church in Corinth. It starts with being open and honest and viewing others as Christ sees them. It’s by no means easy, but in the long run it creates bonds with one another that Christ intended for us.

His book about his experience, Running Against the Wind, though out of print, can still be found on Amazon.com. Hear how God's grace has changed his life and given him peace. Let us know what you think about this podcast.
