Lordship salvation is a view that is typically held by Calvinists. This is the teaching for a person to get saved, the person must not only trust Jesus Christ as Savior but also as the Lord of his life, submitting his life to His sovereign authority by promising to commit to Christ, obey Him, persevere in the faith and repent by turning from and ceasing from sin (repentance).

 

This a view that has caused much division, confusion, and it has clouded the very message of the gospel of Jesus Christ and His message of free grace to lost sinners. Is repentance part of the gospel? Does a sinner need to repent or just believe on Jesus Christ and His promise of eternal life and the forgiveness of sins? What are the different views on repentance? How does that fit into the context of the gospel? What does repentance mean in the Bible? Does it mean to turn from sin? Does it mean to change the mind?

 

My special guest on the show today is Dr. Charles Bing. He has an earned Ph.D. from Dallas Theological Seminary. He is the founder and president of GraceLife Ministries.
